La Popular

Here is another class assignment for which we were instructed to create a new identity & packaging for a local mexican bakery, which also happens to make the best burritos in the WORLD. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but they are definitely the best in Abilene. La Popular, more commonly known as "La Pop" by Abilene natives, is a special part of the community because of its flavor, both literal and figurative. Their charm is in the Pepto Bismol pink table cloths, the poorly painted murals on the wall, and the brown paper bags that each of their homemade burritos comes in. It is a family business that is very clearly tied to its roots. It's because of this that I did a modern take on hieroglyphic pattern for the main pattern and then carried that into the logo. I also used the same colors found on the walls and in the beautiful Mexican pastries that line an entire wall of the restaurant. Even without a fancy logo, I'm sure La Pop will continue to serve the best papas y huevos burritos around for many years to come.
