Monks Coffee

For a class assignment, I was asked to design packaging for Monks Coffee Shop in Abilene,TX. The coffee shop is known for it's cozy, relaxed atmosphere where students can go to study, professionals can hold business meetings early in the morning, and local musicians can play. I grew up going to concerts at Monks on Friday nights, sitting on the tiger print carpeting or the re-claimed crushed velvet couches scattered through the store. I decided to implement the idea of texture into my design by incorporating eclectic fabric and hemp. I then created a clean but quirky logo with custom type that echos the organic qualities of this Abilene landmark.
